Lawn Fertilization in Dallas, TX & Turf Treatment Programs

Year-round fertilization, pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control, fungicide and insecticide applications calibrated for North Texas turf.

CLD

A Treatment Program for
North Texas Turf

Bermuda, St. Augustine, Zoysia, and tall fescue all behave differently in DFW soils — your program should reflect that.

Generic '6-step' lawn programs miss what matters in Dallas: pre-emergent timing against poa annua and crabgrass, sulfur and iron correction for our high-pH soils, and the warm-season green-up window that determines how the property looks all summer.

Every treatment is logged with product name, application rate, date, and weather conditions — documentation you can pass to ownership or a new manager taking over the account.

Treatments Designed
For DFW Soils

A balanced annual calendar — not a one-size-fits-all bag-and-spray.

01
Pre-Emergent Weed Control
Two-pass pre-emergent program timed to soil temperature for crabgrass, goosegrass, and poa annua suppression.
02
Granular Fertilization
Slow-release granular feed calibrated by turf type and season — bermuda, zoysia, fescue all on different schedules.
03
Post-Emergent Spot Spray
Selective herbicide spot treatment for broadleaf weeds, dallisgrass, and nutsedge between applications.
04
Soil Amendments
Sulfur, iron, and lime applied based on annual soil test — corrects the high-pH issue most DFW lawns suffer from.
05
Disease Control
Brown patch, gray leaf spot, and take-all root rot prevention with curative applications when needed.
06
Insect Management
Grub control, chinch bug, and armyworm treatments — the three pests that wipe out DFW turf every season.

Why Our Treatment
Program Actually Works

Most lawn treatments fail because the timing is generic. Ours is calibrated by soil temperature, weather, and turf species.

01
Soil-Test-Driven
Annual soil tests guide nutrient and pH decisions — no guessing, no wasted product.
02
Weather-Adjusted Timing
Applications shift with weather. Pre-emergent goes down when soil temps hit the threshold, not on a calendar date.
03
Documented Applications
Every treatment logged with product, rate, date, and conditions. You have the record if a question ever comes up.
04
Coordinated With Mowing
Treatments scheduled around mow days so product stays on the leaf or in the soil where it works.

Lawn Treatment FAQs

Answers to the questions Dallas-Fort Worth property managers ask most often before signing.

DFW warm-season turf (Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Augustine) typically needs 6–8 rounds per year: pre-emergent in late winter and early fall, balanced fertilizer through the growing season, and a winterizer. Cool-season fescue uses a slightly different schedule.
Fertilization feeds the turf with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium so it grows dense and recovers from traffic. Weed control uses pre- and post-emergent herbicides to stop weeds before they sprout or kill them after. Both are needed — neither replaces the other.
Yes. We use EPA-registered products applied by Texas Department of Agriculture-licensed technicians at label rates. Treated areas are typically safe to re-enter once the application has dried, usually within 1–2 hours.
Spring pre-emergent goes down in mid-February before soil temperatures cross 55°F, which is when crabgrass germinates. Fall pre-emergent for winter weeds (Poa annua, henbit) is applied in early-to-mid October.
Pre-emergent stops new weeds but doesn't kill mature ones, and post-emergent works selectively by weed type. A healthy turf canopy is the strongest weed control — irrigation, mowing height, and fertilization all factor in alongside chemicals.
